Who we support

Head to Toe is the charity for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT). We enhance the services that the Trust provides above and beyond NHS core funding.

CPFT are dedicated to providing high quality care with compassion. They deliver many of the NHS services that are provided outside of hospital and in the community such as physical, mental health and specialist services. They provide integrated physical and mental health services for adults and older people; specialist mental health and learning disability services; children and young people’s mental health services; children’s community services (Peterborough); social care; and ground-breaking research. Here are just a few of the projects that people like you have helped fund in 2018:

Schwartz Rounds - OPAC pilot. - Nurses, doctors, healthcare assistants, receptionists, along with many others do an incredible job trying to help people every day. But for these people to continue helping those in need, we need to make sure they are okay as well. Schwartz Rounds provide a structured forum where all staff, clinical and non-clinical, come together regularly to discuss the emotional and social aspects of working in healthcare. Charitable funding enabled two staff members to receive training that enables them to lead Schwartz round sessions within the trust. It is hoped that this safe space will help the wellbeing of  our staff members and help them to continue doing the incredible work they do.

Mulberry 1 History Walk – Many patients and families that visit our services in Fulbourn are interested to learn about the rich history of the area and hospitals development. Two members of staff from Mulberry 1 took it upon themselves to research this topic and found a selection of fascinating articles and pictures. Charitable funding enabled the staff to frame their history project so they can share the knowledge with patients and families that visit the service for years to come.

Christmas Meals for patients in Fulbourn and Cavell. - No one likes being in hospital on Christmas, but thanks to charitable funds we were able to give 93 patients across the trust a good meal on Christmas day.

Hearing Voices Group facilitator attendance at International Congress - The Hearing Voices Network (HVN) is a world-wide organization. A central part of HVN’s work is the provision of self-help groups, also known as ‘hearing voices groups,’ which endeavour to offer safe and accepting spaces to share one’s experiences, exchange coping strategies, and develop a positive identity as someone who hears voices (Dillon & Hornstein, 2013). Charitable funding gave two staff the opportunity to attend the 10th Hearing Voices Congress Living with Voices: A Human Right in the Hague. The conference gave them insight into the practices of groups around the world which they could feed back into their local sessions.

PRIDE Awards – The PRIDE Awards celebrate and recognise those that go above and beyond in the work they do in the trust to make care even better. Charitable funding has enabled the trust to hold a quarterly event to give these people a stage where their achievements can be shared with their family and colleagues.
