Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) network Minimize

CPFT has set up a small working group to meet regularly and look at how the workplace can develop to better support – and inform others – of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) staff in the workplace and those accessing services.

CPFT recently participated in a Stonewall workplace questionnaire. Like many other organisations, there are many areas in CPFT that could be improved with respect to LGBT equality. As part of the questionnaire process, organisations are ranked in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index. The aim of CPFT is to enter the top 100 organisations in the index. This not only allows us to benchmark ourself against other organisations, but also shows our commitment to LGBT equality.

Unlike other LGBT groups, this is for anyone with an interest in helping develop better support for LGBT people in CPFT, rather than exclusively being for LGBT people. This is developed along a model launched by Stonewall entitled ‘LGBT and Straight Allies Working Groups’.

If anyone in interested in being involved, please contact irfaan.arif@cpft.nhs.uk or phone 01223 884245 if you are interested in getting involved.
