Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust Chief Executive Aidan Thomas has received his flu jab – and urged others to do the same

CPFT has set up a series of clinics for staff at the Trust’s sites at Fulbourn Hospital in Cambridge, the Cavell Centre in Peterborough, and the Newtown Centre in Huntingdon so they can receive the vaccination.

Aidan, pictured above being vaccinated by CPFT's Infection Prevention and Control Matron, Nicola Sharp, said: “It’s vital that we vaccinate as many of our staff as possible. Patient care is our number one priority and we want to eliminate the risk of staff getting flu and then passing it on to our patients.
“For some people, flu can be very serious so we really need to make sure everyone is vaccinated.”

As well as staff, flu jabs are also offered to adult patients in the care of CPFT.

The NHS offers vaccinations to a number of ‘at-risk’ groups including people over 65, those with a serious medical condition and pregnant women. Anyone needing further information should visit www.nhs.uk or contact their GP.
