A former service user from The Darwin Centre at Ida Darwin has completed a tandem skydive and raised £400 for the service.

A cheque was officially presented to staff on 26 June after the service user raised sponsorship from friends, family and staff.

Carole Green, Head of Patient and Parent Involvement at The Darwin Centre, said: “We are incredibly grateful to this young person and were touched that she would want to fund-raise for the centre. The funds will be used to benefit both current and future patients and we extend our thanks to all those who supported her to complete the skydive.”

The Darwin Centre for Young People is a specialist adolescent in-patient unit for the assessment and treatment of young people age 12-17 years old (inclusive) with serious mental health conditions.
