Get up for the cup at Darwin Nurseries charity event
23 January 2015

If football fans need to work off a bit of pre-match tension before the big FA Cup clash between the U’s and Manchester United, they can head down to Darwin Nurseries in Cambridge.

The farm shop and horticulture project, which is run by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust,
will be holding a charity table football event.

Kicking off at noon on Friday, 23 January, it will be £1 per game, and the proceeds will be going to East Anglian Children’s Hospices. The co-workers have designed U's and Man United kits for each of the table football 'players'.

Darwin Nurseries, in Newmarket Road, Teversham, is run by volunteers and adults with learning disabilities.

Manager Christine Millar (pictured) said: “A lot of our customers and clients are really looking forward to the FA Cup match. We thought we’d do something a bit different at Darwin Nurseries to mark the day, and to raise money at the same time.”

League 2 Cambridge United take on Louis van Gaal's Premier League giants in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the
Abbey Stadium on Friday, 23 January.
