Green dream team take runners up spot
11 November 2015

Green-fingered colleagues at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust have been declared runners-up at a major awards ceremony.

The team from the Cavell Centre just missed out on the top prize in the Psychiatric Team Of The Year: Outstanding Contribution To Sustainability category at the 2015 Royal College of Psychiatrists’ annual awards.

Occupational therapists Gemma Buttery and Dave Williamson, and physical activities faciliator Nora O'Shea had been nominated by consultant psychiatrist Dr Miguel de Seixas.

Lead occupational therapist Ruth Vickerstaff and modern matron Sharon Johnson also joined them at the awards finals in London along with more than 200 staff from Trusts across the country.

The awards were hosted by former pop star turned clergyman, Rev Richard Coles, whose parish of Finedon in Northampton is part of the diocese of Peterborough.

Judges said the category was extremely close and praised the quality of all the entries. The winners were Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust with a scheme which had reduced pharmacuetical waste by £100,000 per annum for the last two years.
