Health Visitors from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) were applauded by Health Minister.

Dan Poulter MP, Under-Secretary of State for Health, praised the work of Rowena Harvey, Professional Lead for Health Visiting, and  Angela Rees, Service Manager for Universal Children’s North, at a Department of Health event in London on 27th February.

The CPFT staff took part in a presentation which outlined the progress made on a new early intervention programme to help vulnerable families. Rowena also gave a very moving presentation of her leadership journey from the rostrum to the 200 delegates who attended.

The minister declared himself, “extremely impressed with the work that you are doing and how you presented it.”  He conveyed his personal appreciation for the reception he received, and wished the health visitors every success in the future delivery of the service.

Sally Batley, Head of Implementation Support at the Department of Health (DH), said:

“A massive thank you from the DH team to all of you that worked so hard and enthusiastically to make the event on Wednesday a real success. You represented yourself, your organisation, and the EIS programme, brilliantly; generating a huge buzz and demonstrating with passion and pride some of the fantastic changes you are making to children and families across the country.”

The poster presentations reported on the projects undertaken by each Early Implementer Sites (EIS) site across the UK demonstrating innovative delivery of the Healthy Child programme.
