03 November 2017

Residents in Huntingdon are being invited to have their say over services run by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.

CPFT, which provides mental health and community care, is looking to form a Service-Users’ Council to represent the views of patients, carers and members of the public.

Anyone who is interested in influencing how the council should be formed is invited to attend a meeting on Friday, 17 November at Huntingdon Library, Princes Street, from 1pm to 4.30pm.

Anna Tuke, CPFT’s Associate Director of Service User, Patient and Stakeholder Partnerships (pictured), said: “It’s really exciting for service users and CPFT to be working together to form the Service-Users’ Council and ensure that the service users’ voice is strengthened within CPFT.

“In the last two years, we have gone from being a mental health trust to one that now also delivers community care to people with long-term physical conditions. In addition, we provide social care services, children’s community health services in Peterborough, and the Trust is also responsible for cutting-edge research.

“Our 3,500 staff now support more than 100,000 people every year, and this will be another way to ensure patients, service-users, carers and all those with an interest in health services remain at the heart of everything we do.

“We hope as many people as possible will come along to Huntingdon Library and share their views about our services and their future direction as well as how the council should operate.”
