Intrepid Lauren MacIntyre (pictured) raised more than £600 for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) when she took on the three-peaks challenge.

Lauren climbed the three highest peaks in the UK, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, within three days.

The 26-year-old Corporate Governance Manager, who is based at CPFT’s Fulbourn Hospital in Cambridge, raised a total of £619 to support people with mental health challenges.

She said: “I was really surprised and delighted by the amount the challenge raised. I know that this will make a difference to the people who use the services. I really enjoyed the experience but it wasn’t without a few minor hiccups - including taking the wrong route down Snowdon, which meant we ended up in the wrong village and had to get a taxi back.”

The money raised will go towards CPFT’s Mind Your Body campaign, which aims to raise awareness and funds for the Croft Child and Family Unit, an inpatient ward for children and their families in Cambridge, and Recovery College East, which offers free courses to patients in Cambridge and Peterborough.
