New carers' group at The Cavell Centre

Carers of service users from the Oak Wards can now meet up.

New carers' group at The Cavell Centre
05 September 2014

Oak 1 and 2 wards at The Cavell Centre are running a new carers' group to help support those who are looking after someone with a mental health illness.

It is just as important to support the family members and friends of CPFT service users as it is to support the clients themselves. Caring for someone with mental health challenges can be a hard and lonely job so this new group is here to support you during your loved one's stay on the ward.

Carers can go along for a cup of tea and a chat, have some time to ask questions, share ideas and thoughts and arrange carers' assessments. Everything that is talked about and said in the group will be confidential. Anything said during the group will stay between the groups and will not be discussed with your loved one.

The group will meet for the first time on 6 September from 4pm-5pm and will meet every Saturday thereafter. If you are interested in going along, just meet at The Cavell Centre reception and a member of staff will collect you from there. For further information, please contact Madaline Stanworth on 01733 776026.
