More than £200 raised for charity - all in 'onesie' day!
03 October 2013

Staff and service-users at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust donned their onesies to raise money for charity.

The fundraiser in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support took place on Springbank ward at the Trust’s Fulbourn Hospital site.

Staff and service-users all dressed up in their all-in-ones and there was a cake sale on the ward.

Service manager Karen Miller proved she was a good sport when she agreed to have a custard pie thrown in her face when the fundraising topped £100.

Esther Linger, the new ward manager of Springbank ward, said: “Karen said she’d take a custard pie in the face if £100 was raised. To be honest, I don’t think she thought we’d get that much. But she took it really well and by the end of the day, a total of £200.50 was raised. Everyone who turned up had to put a onesie on. It was a great day for the team and the service-users and we raised a lot of money for a great cause.”

Springbank is a specialist 12-bed unit which provides in-patient psychiatric services for women with severe personality disorders.
