Praise for Trust teams at Annual Members' Meeting
23 September 2013

More than 150 people attended the Annual Members’
Meeting of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.

The evening, which took place at Burgess Hall, St Ives, was a chance for members to find out what had happened at CPFT over the last 12 months as well as plans for the year ahead.

Chairman David Edwards praised the efforts of staff who were given the all-clear by regulators at the start of 2013, and also applauded the Trust’s high-achieving teams.

Among a number he named were the Dementia Carers’ Support Service and the Cambridgeshire Child and Adolescent Substance Use Service, which have both won major awards, while the Advice and Referral Centre in Peterborough has received 10,000 calls less than a year
after it was established.

David said: “Most importantly, they are all, without
exception, making a difference to the lives of the patients
and service users.”

New Chief Executive Aidan Thomas addressed his first Annual Members’  Meeting and praised the huge range of services provided by the Trust, while there were also insights into the Recovery College East, art therapy, the children’s health visiting services in Peterborough.

Finance director Philip Cave talked members through the financial position of CPFT while musical entertainment was provided by The Recovered, a collaboration between staff and service users.

Before the meeting started, charities and Trust partners put on a exhibition of their work. Visitors toured a series of stalls containing information about local health services.

The event was sponsored by Mills & Reeve, Kelway, Serco and Victoire.
