Service User and Carer Research Network Meeting
17 December 2013

The next service user and carer research network meeting will take place on Wednesday 29 January 2014, 1.30pm-3.30pm at the Large Meeting Room, Douglas House, Cambridge. Coffee and tea will be served at 1.15pm and reasonable travel expenses will be paid.

The meeting is for service users, carers, clinicians and researchers interested in mental health research and participatory ways of working.

During the meeting Liz Corker will present the results from phase 1 of the Viewpoint survey (2008-2011). The Viewpoint survey interviews up to 1000 mental health service users per year regarding unfair treatment due to a mental illness diagnosis. Special focus will be given to results from our Trust (Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust) which participated in the study in 2009. Thomas Kabir will talk about payment and reimbursement for service user and carer involvement in NHS and University research and give practical advice to researchers on budgeting for actively involving the public in research.

The meeting will also be an opportunity for attendees to share news and talk about their experiences of being involved in different research projects.

Places are limited so please e-mail iliana.rokkou@cpft.nhs.uk if you are planning to attend.
