CPFT appoints new chairman
24 August 2012

David Edwards has joined CPFT as its new Chairman. CPFT’s current chair, Anne Campbell, left the Trust after 6½ years. David started with CPFT on 1 September 2012.

David has worked in health care for 44 years. He recently chaired the health commissioning body NHS Great Yarmouth and Waveney. Prior to that, he was a Non-Executive Director of the James Paget University Hospital Foundation Trust. He currently chairs the Norfolk and Suffolk Dementia Alliance, is vice-chair of the UEA governing Council and in a board member of UCS. In his executive life, he was Chief Executive of University Teaching Hospitals in Birmingham, Nottingham and Cardiff for more than 20 years.

“It is a great privilege to be appointed Chairman of this Trust,” he said. “The challenge for our Board, Governors and staff is to provide the best possible services we can for the population we serve. I am very much looking forward to leading the organisation and know we can be successful in meeting this aim.

Anne Campbell said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed leading the Trust for the past 6½ years, and am immensely proud of its achievements in that time. These include a smooth transition to Foundation Trust status, and groundbreaking research as a founding partner of Cambridge University Health Partners.”
