More than 160 service users, carers, staff and partners came together to celebrate the launch of the first Recovery College for the east of England on 7 November.

Recovery College East is being run by CPFT and is a collaborative, educational learning environment that will enable people who use or have used secondary services from the Trust to develop new skills or increase their understanding of the mental health challenges they have.

The launch saw various presenters talking about recovery and what a college like this means to them. Attendees were also able to look at the new prospectus and talk to college staff about the courses on offer.

Dr Attila Vegh, Chief Executive of CPFT, said: “This is a really exciting launch for us. Recovery College East will offer a range of interesting and aspiring courses to promote recovery and wellbeing for us all. I am very pleased that CPFT is working alongside partner organisations to help deliver the prospectus and host course venues for us. The opportunities this project affords for sharing expertise and learning together are really exciting and I look forward to the future growth and development of the college.”
