Long service / 60th anniversay celebration<br>1094 years of long service in the NHS were celebrated in July as employees of the Trust receive their awards for long service. Attendees also celebrated the 60th birthday of the NHS and also the launch of the Foundation Trust. Refurbished Newtown Centre opened<br>Chief Executive Karen Bell officially opened the refurbished Newtown Centre in Huntingdon in June 2008. The new building will be home for staff working for children’s, adults and older people’s mental health services, and also the eating disorder service. Mayor visits Darwin Nurseries<br>The Mayor of Cambridge, Jenny Bailey, made a special visit to Darwin Nurseries in April 2008 to see some of the work being carried out by people with learning disabilities and mental health problems. Trust sponsors local football team<br>Fulbourn Football Club has new kit and match balls, thanks to the help of the Trust. The Fulbourn football team players have been helping the Trust in its membership recruitment drive and have been signing up people from all walks of life.
Alan Johnson visits Trust<br>In December 2007, Secretary of State for Health Alan Johnson visited the Trust. He met staff from the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team at Fulbourn Hospital, Cambridge, and then CAMEO - the Trust's Early Intervention Service at Ida Darwin David Nicholson visit<br>David Nicholson, Chief Executive of the NHS, visited Denbigh Ward, Fulbourn Hospital, in September 2007, to see first hand the work going on to help elderly people with dementia. Australians visit Trust service<br>Six senior mental health clinicians/managers from Melbourne, Australia, visited George Mackenzie House in Cambridge in June 2007 to see how the Trust runs the low-secure psychiatric unit. Cambridge City FC supports Trust<br>Fans and staff of Cambridge City Football Club put their support behind the Trust’s Foundation Trust membership scheme in 2007. More than 150 fans and staff signed up to the Trust 's membership scheme.
