The Croft DVD

This 55-minute DVD shows children and families receiving treatment at The Croft. It shows them in individual sessions such as play activities, psychological assessments, music therapy and family therapy work. You will also see children working together in the unit's school during the mornings, in the evenings and at night on the residential programme, as well as in groups run by the nursing team. The Croft's multidiscilinary approach is also illustrated through discussion which take place in the weekly management meeting.

The video is relevant to anyone with an interest in child and family psychiatry. It is also used to prepare families for admission.

The children and families on the DVD are played by actors, while The Croft staff are mostly in their own roles. The DVD was written and directed by Amelia Oldfield, who has worked as a music therapist at The Croft for many years. Amelia is also a part-time lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU).

The DVD was filmed, edited and produced by the media production department at ARU and it is being used as a teaching aid for students on the Music Therapy MA Training Course.

DVDs are on sale from The Croft at £5 each plus post and packaging. Call 01223 885800 or email amanda.liczbinski@cpft.nhs.uk to order your copy.
