The SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) Local Offer is new legislation aimed at providing better, more joined up support and services for children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities and their families.

All local authorities working with their partners must publish in one place information about the services they expect to be available in their area for children and young people 0 - 25 who have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). This is known as the local offer.

Both Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council have local offers, which are the 'front door' to information from education, health and social care about the provision that is available for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families.

The SEND Code of Practice, SEND:Guide for Parents and Carers and the Guide for Young People are Government publications that provide more detail about the local offer.
