We have a wide variety of roles available at CPFT based at different sites including Cambridgeshire, Peterborough, Huntingdon and Fenland. Cambridge volunteering roles: 

  • Administrator, Patient Services
  • Administrator & Group Therapy Assistant, Arts Therapy
  • Chaplaincy Assistant (This is a spiritual as opposed to religious role)
  • Gardener, Darwin Nurseries (Supports adults with disabilities in a horticultural environment)
  • Dementia Carers' Support Service Volunteer
  • Mealtime Support, Willow Ward (Inpatient facility for those aged 65+)
  • Ward Support, Lord Byron Ward (Inpatient facility for those with complex needs)

Peterborough volunteering roles: 

  • Arts Designer (a very exciting opportunity to be a part of a one off project based at the Cavell Centre)
  • Chaplaincy Assistant (This is a spiritual as opposed to religious role)
  • Administrator & Group Therapy Assistant, Arts Therapy
  • Activity Organiser, Oak Wards (Inpatient facility for those in acute mental distress) 
  • Volunteer Visitor, Oak Wards (Inpatient facility for those in acute mental distress)
  • Pamper Role, Oak Wards (Inpatient facility for those in acute mental distress)
  • Ward Befriender, Intermediate Care Unit (Crisis intervention & short term rehabilitation)
  • Gardener, Oak Wards (Inpatient facility for those in acute mental distress)

Fenland and Huntingdon volunteering roles:

  • Service User Engagement and Participation Worker

General volunteer roles: 

  • Ward-based Musician
  • PAT (Pets As Therapy) Dog volunteer
  • Health Coach Assistant Facilitator

Dementia Carers' Support Service

The Dementia Carers' Support Service is an innovative project that aims to link former carers with current carers of people with dementia to offer regular and consistent support as a befriender or buddy. These experienced dementia carers support volunteers will be able to utilise and share their extensive hands on knowledge and skills. They will have time to listen, give practical advice and help to signpost services in the community when needed. You can find out more about the service here.
