Therapies offered in the Trust

Therapies offered by psychologists from CPFT will vary according to the understanding developed of your needs, and also to the service you have been referred to.

Clinical health psychology

Clinical health psychologists work in a range of acute and community hospital settings, specialising in areas of physical health medicine with patients who may also have co-morbid underlying psychological problems. The aim is to help patients manage their long term conditions, prevent disability and improve their quality of life. This may involve medication and medical procedures but it will also involve encouraging patients to make changes in their lives through activity and exercise, education and relaxation strategies. More information can be found here.

Youth offending

Clinical psychologists working within Cambridgeshire Youth Offending Service (YOS), offer support for young people aged 10-18 years who have committed an offence. This is an outreach service, offering support to young people and their families in the community. More information and contact details can be found here.
