The Lucille Van Geest Centre works with service users, carers and families to help them regain control of their lives and make positive changes to improve quality of life. A leaflet explaining how to get to the centre can be downloaded from the bottom of the page.

How this service can help you

For short-term rehabilitation and recovery of service users with sub-acute and enduring mental health needs. The objective is to improve and/or maintain the service user's optimal level of functioning. Service users can expect:

  • Recovery and rehabilitation following admission to one of the Trust's acute mental health wards
  • A personal structured rehabilitation programme to promote and develop independence in a safe environment
  • Care delivered via the Care Programme Approach
  • Support in planning their care and achieving goals
  • Provision of activities on and off the ward
  • Help to make links with their local community
  • One-to-one time
  • CPA review
  • Occupational and skills training
  • Individual and/or group work and therapies
  • Self management
  • Relapse prevention
