Workshops and courses

The Psychological Wellbeing Service offers a range of courses to help you develop strategies to cope with the stresses and strains we experience from time to time in life. 

Our courses aim to help you learn relevant cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques to help you gain an understanding of your difficulties and teach you strategies that will be useful well beyond the duration of the course to prevent and manage any future bouts of stress, anxiety and depression.

Our courses are held in a range of venues across the region and are open to all people accessing the service provided that they can get to the course location.  If you are interested in a particular course, please indicate this on your referral form so we can advise you when and where the next course will be running.

Building self esteem

A 12-session course for people experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression underpinned by low self-esteem.   


Overcoming social anxiety

 An eight-week course for people experiencing anxiety in social situations. 

Mindfulness

An eight-session course teaching mindfulness techniques 

Mixed anxiety and depression toolbox

A six-session course for people experiencing symptoms of both anxiety and depression

Anxiety management

A six-session course aimed at helping people manage their anxiety.

Mood management

A six-session course aimed at helping people manage low mood and stress.

Managing your adult ADHD

An eight-session course aimed at helping people manage their symptoms of ADHD.

Wellbeing workshops

A set of four workshops for people waiting for individual therapy so they can get support and some useful tools before therapy begins.

Winter blues

A six-session course for people who experience Seasonal Affective Disorder (please note this course is offered in Autumn and Winter only).

The Group Therapy Centre 

CBT for mixed anxiety and depression

  • A 13-week course for people with symptoms of anxiety and depression 
  • The Group Therapy Centre offers this course in Cambridge, Ely, and Huntingdon throughout the year and offers both daytime and evening options 

Lawrence Way Community Counselling Service

 Anger and assertiveness course

An eight-week course for people who struggle with anger.  This course runs twice a year in the spring and autumn 

Self-esteem course

An eight week course for people who struggle with low self esteem.  This course runs twice a year in the spring and autumn
