Willow Ward treats men and women over the age of 65 who have an acute mental health illness

Willow Ward is a purpose built 18-bedded inpatient ward for men and women over the age of 65 who have an acute mental health illness such as depression, acute anxiety, psychosis or bi-polar disorder that requires hospital treatment.

All of our bedrooms have en-suite facilities and during your stay we encourage you to bring a few personal items with you to help you feel at home to aid your recovery.

While you are in hospital you can expect to be treated with care and compassion and we will respect your personal needs. You can be assured that we will maintain your privacy and dignity at all time and our staff will do all they can to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible.

On the ward we will talk with you about your care plan and how long you might expect to stay on the ward.  Care and treatment will be provided though the team that comprises a range of professionals including nurses, psychiatrists, occupational health, physiotherapy and speech and language therapists.  You will be invited to talk regularly with the ward team about how you are doing and your plan of care. Your relatives may also be invited to attend a ward round, but only with your consent.
