East of England Community Forensic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (FCAMHS)

Based in Cambridgeshire and serving the East of England, the service - operated by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust - is available to children and young people, under the age of 18 years, whereby:

  • there is a concern about a young person's mental health (this may include neurodevelopmental disorder and/or learning disability)
  • the young person presents with high risk of harm towards others and about whom there is major family or professional concern
  • the young person may be in contact with the criminal justice system or is likely to enter secure care.

How FCAMHS works:

The team's work often involves giving advice to or liaising with relevant professionals already working with the young person concerned. In some cases the team may meet with a young person who has been referred to us. The team will then complete an assessment and consider relevant next steps or interventions.

The FCAMHS team operates in the following areas:

The service is currently undergoing a phased regional roll out across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. Communications will be sent as this occurs. For further information contact service manager Kathy Lawrence-Clarke.
