Service structure

Adult Diabetes Team

We offer adult care across all of our sites for people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes offering clinics, structured education and telephone support.

Young Person's Diabetes Team

We offer a dedicated clinic for our patients aged 16 to 25 with diabetes. Clinics are age-banded, allowing young people to be seen more frequently and to meet other young people living with diabetes.

Paediatric Diabetes Team

Patients up to the age of 19 are seen every three months in paediatric diabetes clinics. These patients have access to specialist paediatric nurses and diabetes youth workers. Patients can chose to transition to the adult services from the age of 16.

Diabetes in Pregnancy Team

In Peterborough we offer a preconception and ante-natal service in the community, providing additional care and support to women with diabetes.

Insulin Pump Diabetes Team

In Peterborough we offer a specialist insulin pump service, supporting patients that use insulin pumps to administer their insulin, as well as supporting those who would benefit from this treatment option. This team runs education sessions to support patients to make the best use of the technology at their disposal and offers ongoing support to ensure they are able to manage their diabetes effectively.
