Specialist Clinical Psychology

The paediatric clinical psychology service offers psychological assessment and interventions for children, young people and families living with type-1 diabetes. We offer our services from birth up to 19 years of age to children living in the East of England.

Based at the Weston Centre at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, we provide a wide range of services including support with adjusting to, and coping with, the diagnosis of diabetes including individual and family therapy, and sibling support.

We recognise that living with diabetes may bring emotional and physical challenges and we endeavour to support our children and families with this, and any other associated impact of living with diabetes. We also offer a transition service for the young people preparing to move on to adult services, as well as regular peer support groups.
