  • The Assessment Unit is 13-bed inpatient ward
  • Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) (nine beds)
  • Ministry Of Defence (four beds)
  • Admission for specialist assessment within 72 hours, resulting in either recommendation for admission to the Treatment Ward (formerly Oak 1 and Oak 2, transfer of care to Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team, if appropriate, or transfer of care back to GP or community team or agency.
  • En-suite shower and toilet facilities in all rooms
  • Treatment provided for a spectrum of mental illness requiring specialist care
  • Therapeutic programme provides individual person-centred therapy
  • Discharge supported by a mutually agreed follow-up plan
  • Person-centred approach
  • For those visiting military personnel, overnight accommodation can be arranged within the Cavell Centre with prior notice
