The team provides tailored nutrition and dietetic advice for the adult population of Cambridgeshire and aim to help them achieve better health and make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.
The team provides tailored nutrition and dietetic advice to older people and adults in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to help them improve their health by making the appropriate lifestyle and food choices. The team also provides assessment and treatment for patients who need therapeutic diets and/or nutritional support.
In addition, the team gives talks and provides training to other health care professionals about diet, nutrition and any related subjects, keeping up to date with the latest scientific research on nutrition and dietetics which it promotes on social media.
Referrals are via their GP or other healthcare professionals. All referrals are triaged to determine the most appropriate type service for them

- North Cambs Hospital, Wisbech
- The Princess of Wales Hospital, Ely
- Chesterton Medical Centre, Cambridge
- Healthy Living Centre, Peterborough
- Oaktree Centre, Huntingdon
- Riverside Practise, March
- Client’s own homes
- Care homes
The wide range of our services includes
- General adult dietetic clinics: Nutrition Support, suspected micro-nutrient deficiencies, healthy eating, diabetes, dietary management of Dyslipidaemia.
- Specialist adult dietetic clinics: Gastroenterology, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, mental health.
- Nutrition support.
- Home enteral feeding service (this covers learning disability patients in Cambridge City and South Cambs, and all home enteral feeding patients in other parts of our catchment area).
- Home visits for patients unable to visit a clinic.
- Visits to patients in care homes.
- Adult and adolescent eating disorders
The team provides the following talks and training
- Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST)
- Diabetes education and self-management for ongoing and diagnosed (DESMOND)
- Peterborough dose adjustment course (PDAC)
- Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols (FODMAP)
- Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation
