HMP Whitemoor is a maximum-security male prison housing category A and B offenders.

How this service can help you
HM Prison Whitemoor is part of the high-secure prison estate, which means it holds adult male prisoners who are all serving long sentences – many are life sentenced – and some of whom are designated as the most dangerous prisoners in the prison system. The mental health needs of these men are often highly complex and chronic. Within the prison there is a unit holding men who have not only been violent in the community but have also demonstrated violence (or violent ideation) whilst in prison (The Close Supervision Centre). This is part of a nationally managed Prison Service system which operates across five prisons, all in the high secure estate.
