New Gym for our Young People

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we were able to contribute towards the building of a new gym at our Ida Darwin site at Fulbourn.

The Darwin Centre helps people between the ages of 13-17 who are struggling with their mental health.

Head of Patient and Parent Involvement, Bryony Dale (pictured) “Exercise has massive potential to enhance wellbeing, particularly in young people. Physical activity isn’t just about pushing yourself to run as far as you can; just a brisk 10 minute walk on a treadmill can reducing feelings of stress, anxiety and help create a positive energy and mood throughout the day. The Darwin Fitness Centre has been a great addition to the facilities on the unit and is promoting both positive physical and mental wellbeing. The young people love it.”
