Bikers rev up for suicide awareness and raise funds for our charity
Motorbike fans are being urged to join a charity evening in aid of CPFT's official charity Head of Toe and help raise awareness of suicide prevention.
The event is being organised by Trust staff members Emyr Price, Patient and Family Liaison Officer, and Sharon Nightingale, Physical Health Patient Safety Specialist, who are both keen bikers.
It is taking place at M&M Motorcycles in Waterbeach, Cambridge, on Thursday, 26 September from 6pm to 9.30pm.
Emyr, a former police outrider before he joined the Trust, said: “This is a really great opportunity for bikers to get together and even if you don’t ride you’ll be assured of a warm welcome.
“We’re going to be joined by representatives of Mental Health Motorbike, the organisation that does so much to reduce suicide among the motorbike community.
“It will also help us spread the word about the Trust’s mental health services and how people can get any help and support they need.
“We have some fantastic items donated to us which we will raffle in aid of Head to Toe. It’s going to be a really good and worthwhile evening.”
The raffle includes signed merchandise from superbike rider Scott Redding, VIP tickets to Brands Hatch, and tickets to the National Motorcycle Museum.
Tickets cost £5 and to enter click here. The raffle will be held online and is open to anyone, not just those who attend the bike night.
CPFT employs more than 4,700 staff who provide community physical healthcare for older people and those with long-term conditions, mental healthcare for children and adults, children’s health services, learning disability support and social care support. The Trust is also renowned for its research work.
