Basic signing Training. Tailored to setting and needs of child/children on SLT caseload.

Offered by invitation, following advice from the Link Therapist

Charges

We do not charge for 1 to 1 or small group training around the needs of an individual child because this is part of the child’s intervention plan; this includes workshops for parents and carers.

All Local Authority schools can request targeted training. There will be no charge if the time comes from the schools SLT allocation for that academic year. This will be agreed between the SENCo and the link therapist at the planning meetings.

Training may be delivered as whole school training to schools with high numbers of children with SLCN. Alternatively for LA schools with low predicted incidence of SLCN, training may be offered for staff from a cluster of schools. Independent schools and LA schools who would like training that is outside of the SLT offer are welcome to purchase training. Numbers of training.

Please note we are happy to discuss individual training needs for settings or groups as required and there may be a charge for these. Where we are delivering accredited training e.g. Elklan, Makaton, Word Aware, there will be a charge.

Information for carers

A carer is anyone, including children and adults who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support. The care they give is unpaid.

At Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, we value the often life-long support carers provide and recognise them as equal care partners. We want to offer as much guidance and reassurance as possible, to help you in your caring role. You can find general information and support for adult carers, young carers and parent carers by following this link
