We are seeking an exceptional Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to join our Board and become a part of our Executive Team.
This is a pivotal leadership role at the heart of the organisation, responsible not only for overseeing our financial strategy and stewardship, but also for contributing to our broader organisational vision and long-term sustainability.
You will work closely with colleagues across the Trust and our wider health and care system to ensure that our financial decisions enable the delivery of safe, effective, and innovative services.

I hope you're well. I'm pleased to introduce an exciting opportunity to join Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) as our Chief Finance Officer (CFO).

About the Trust
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) was formed on 1 June 2008 under the Health and Social Care (Community Health and Standards) Act 2003, succeeding Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.
CPFT provides a wide range of mental health, physical health, specialist, learning disability and neuro-rehabilitation community and hospital services in the East of England. We support a population of just under a million people and employ nearly 5,000 staff. Our biggest bases are at the Cavell Centre, Peterborough, and Fulbourn Hospital, Cambridge, but our staff are based in more than 50 locations.

Job Overview
The Chief Finance Officer will, as part of the unitary Trust Board, be responsible for the financial management of the Trust, establishing sound financial policies, procedures and reports that enable efficient and effective management of the business and financial risk.
As a member of the Executive Team and the unitary Trust Board, the Chief Finance Officer will work collaboratively to provide clear leadership, taking responsibility individually and collectively with the Directors, for quality, performance and finance, and the achievement of the Trust’s strategic and operational objectives.
The Chief Finance Officer will lead and develop the Trust’s financial strategy and management framework to ensure the future success of the Trust.
The Chief Finance Officer will also be responsible for the following portfolios:
- Estates, including health and safety and security functions
- Business technology
- Informatics
- Procurement and legal services
- Being the Trust lead for counter fraud and emergency planning.
