Steve Grange, Chief Executive Officer
Steve Grange has over 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles across the NHS and was appointed Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) in October 2024.
Steve joined CPFT from Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT), where he served as Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Strategy and Strategic Transformation.
He joined MPFT in 2006 and played a key role in shaping the trust’s strategic and commercial direction and integration of services. Prior to that, he worked nationally as a National Improvement Lead at the NHS Modernisation Agency Department of Health, driving large-scale national service transformation and improvement programmes.
Steve has also held several senior leadership roles in the Acute Sector. He has worked in the USA and with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Wagner College, where he holds a Visiting Professor role.
Steve is deeply passionate about improving the quality of care for patients and service users, with a strong focus on compassionate, person-centred care and reducing health inequalities. He is committed to continuous improvement at CPFT — supporting staff, strengthening services, and ensuring the Trust delivers safe, effective, and inclusive care to the communities it serves.
Since December 2008, Steve has also chaired the NHS Ministry of Defence Joining Forces Network, which promotes national and international collaboration and shared learning between the NHS and Armed Forces communities.
