The SMHS offers treatment to people with moderate to severe mental health problems. If your client’s mental health symptoms are in the mild to moderate range please advise them to self-refer to their local IAPT service instead. You/they can search for their local service here https://beta.nhs.uk/find-a-psychological-therapies-service/scuss the referral.
Please note that the Staff Mental Health Service is NOT an emergency service. Patients at high risk requiring urgent assessment should be referred to the First Response Service on 111 option 2 (CPFT) or appropriate crisis service (outside CPFT).
