Lending a hand! How the work of our incredible volunteers was celebrated in art form during celebration event
The work of the incredible army of volunteers at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust has been praised.
There are now more than 200 kind-hearted people volunteering with the Trust, undertaking roles from gardening to supporting activities on inpatient wards.
Most recently nine have joined the Community Butterfly Volunteer Service providing support to those who are receiving end of life care. Funded by CPFT's Head to Toe charity, the volunteers are trained to work with patients who may have few visitors or whose family and friends may need some respite.
Louisa Bullivant, Voluntary Services Manager, said: “We cannot thank our volunteers enough. Their skills, their expertise and their desire to make a difference are vital to helping our Trust provide the very best care to our patients and vital support to our carers and teams.

To mark Volunteers Week, a special celebration took place at the Cavell Centre in Peterborough.
Funded by Head to Toe and organised by Louisa and her team, those volunteers who were able to attend — together with representatives of some of the Trust's stakeholders and partners — enjoyed some food and drinks and were presented with certificates of recognition.
They also took part in a painting workshop run by arts therapist Suzanne Hutchinson and their work will now go on display for patients and visitors to view.
CPFT employs more than 4,700 staff who – as well as mental health and community physical health services – also provide eating disorder services in Norfolk, children’s community services in Peterborough, social care services and learning disability support.
