Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust becomes Teaching Partner of the University of Cambridge

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is proud to announce it has been accredited as a Teaching Partner of the University of Cambridge.
The award recognises the continued collaboration and support to the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine through the provision of clinical placements and teaching.
It also underlines the Trust’s ongoing commitment and contribution to high quality clinical education.
CPFT provides mental health services for those of all ages as well as community physical health nursing for older people and those with long-term conditions. The Trust is also renowned for its ground-breaking research work.
The partnership will further strengthen the close relationship between CPFT and the University of Cambridge, providing the opportunity for more joint research projects as well as workforce development and training opportunities.
Steve Grange, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I am delighted for everyone at CPFT that we have been recognised as a Teaching Partner by one of the world’s leading universities.
“Our top priority is to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients and service users. We have long-been a health partner of the University of Cambridge, but becoming a Teaching Partner will only strengthen our work and highlights our Trust’s unique place in the provision of health and social care in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
“It is a proud day for everyone who works here and everyone who has a connection to the services we provide for those who live in our area.”
Dr Cathy Walsh, Chief Medical Officer at CPFT, said: “We are immensely proud to be recognised as a University of Cambridge Teaching Partner. "This accreditation reflects the strength of our collaboration, the calibre of our clinical and academic teams, and our shared commitment to developing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
"It is a testament to the outstanding work happening across CPFT and our continued dedication to excellence in education, research and patient care.”
CPFT employs more than 4,700 staff who – as well as mental health and community physical health services – also provide eating disorder services in Norfolk, children’s community services in Peterborough, social care services and learning disability support.
