Trust becomes proud member of University Hospital Association

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is proud to announce its successful membership into the prestigious University Hospital Association.

The Trust - which provides community nursing and mental health services - becomes the 44th member nationally, and only the sixth organisation of its type to be accepted into the association.

The milestone builds on the Trust’s recent achievement of University of Cambridge Teaching Partner Status and marks a significant step forward in its strategic development.

The UHA membership is expected to enhance the Trust’s ability to attract and retain top talent across clinical and non-clinical roles.

CPFT is proud of the expansion of nursing and Allied Health Professional (AHP) research opportunities, and the Trust’s growing cohort of Queen’s Nurses.

Chief Executive Steve Grange said: “This is a moment of real pride for our organisation, joining the UHA places us among a select group of NHS providers nationally recognised for excellence in research, education, and clinical practice.

“It opens doors to new recruitment pathways, strengthens our research profile, and positions us firmly in the national conversation around best practice."

Dr Ben Underwood, Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist and Research and Development Director at CPFT said: “University Hospital Association status is excellent news for the organisation and our population. It will allow us to attract and retain the best staff and to offer people in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough the latest cutting-edge tests and treatments."

CPFT provides community physical health services for older people and adults with long term conditions, mental health services, children community services in Peterborough and learning disability services. The Trust is also renowned for its research and development work and was awarded Teaching Partner status by the University of Cambridge in June 2025.
