CPFT Chair Eileen Milner appointed to prestigious national post with Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health
Eileen Milner, the Chair of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, has been appointed to a prestigious national post.
Eileen is to become the next Chair of the Board of Trustees Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).
She will take up her post on 1 November and will combine that role with her work at CPFT.
Eileen said: “I'm very pleased to be joining the College and I look forward to working closely with Board of Trustees and its members to strengthen our collective voice and drive meaningful progress for children and young people.
“Throughout my career, I have advocated for the rights and wellbeing of children and young people and RCPCH’s mission is very much aligned with CPFT’s work to provide the best physical and mental health services for our children and young people together with the key partnership the Trust has in the planned Cambridge Children’s Hospital."
The RCPCH is the professional membership body for paediatricians across the UK and plays a leading role in improving child health and shaping services for children and young people. As Chair of its Board of Trustees, Eileen will help oversee the College's strategic direction, governance and long-term priorities.
Eileen became the permanent Chair of CPFT in December 2023. She originally joined the Trust as a non-executive director in September 2022 before becoming interim Chair in June 2023.
In a career spanning both the public and private sector, she was formerly the Chief Operating Officer of the Care Quality Commission, leading the work across the NHS on whistleblowing, and also served as the Chief Executive of the Education and Skills Funding Agency with responsibility for one of the largest budgets in UK public service.
