Dementia service earns Carer Friendly Tick Award
Congratulations to our Dementia Carers Support Service (pictured) which has been awarded the Carer Friendly Tick Award.
DCSS provides support to unpaid carers of family members or friends with a diagnosis of dementia at particularly challenging times throughout their caring journey.
Paige O’Brien, CPFT DCSS Co-ordinator, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the Carer Friendly Tick Award, recognising our commitment to identifying and supporting informal carers of people living with dementia.
“We applied because carers deserve to feel acknowledged, understood, and empowered, and this award strengthens that commitment. Our passionate, dedicated team of volunteers and staff strive to ensure carers feel seen, valued and supported, and we are deeply grateful for their ongoing contribution.”
Jill Nooij, Caring Together Charity carer awareness and voice delivery lead, added: “It’s fantastic to see a service within the Trust dedicated solely to supporting those caring for a loved one with dementia.
“All our Carer Friendly Tick Awards are assessed by a panel of carers. The panel said ‘This is a very strong application and are very much looking forward to seeing how it develops over the years’.”
