Trust recognised for armed forces commitment
CPFT has been awarded silver status under the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.
The scheme run by the Ministry of Defence recognises organisations that go beyond their armed forces covenant commitments and demonstrate sustained, practical support to the armed forces community.
It confirms that the Trust is not only armed forces friendly in principle, but that this is embedded in its culture, policies and day-to-day practice supporting reservists, veterans, cadets and military families.
Tom Bale, Associate Director Corporate Programmes & Armed Forces Lead, said: “While there will always be more to do, and we shouldn’t become complacent, this is a significant achievement we should all be proud of ahead of Armed Forces Day this weekend.
“It recognises the Trust as a mindful employer aligned to the NHS commitment to inclusion and fairness and expanding participation. It demonstrates that we actively contribute to national resilience by supporting those who serve or have served.
“It also shows that the Trust can attract and retain highly skilled talent, recognising the transferable leadership, adaptability and team working skills within the armed forces community.”
Tom added that it also gives the Trust a strong platform to progress to gold status.
