Trust’s commitment to carers reaffirmed

CPFT has retained its Triangle of Care three star rating – the highest award possible – following a recent assessment.

The Triangle of Care is a therapeutic alliance between carers, service users and health professionals. Based on six key principles, it aims to promote safety and recovery and to sustain mental wellbeing by including and supporting carers.

Chair of CPFTs Carers Programme Board Keith Grimwade, said: “There are an estimated seven million unpaid carers in the UK, who can provide vital insight into the treatment and condition of those they care for.

“We are one of the few NHS providers with three stars and have now been a member of the scheme for ten years. This is an outstanding achievement which reaffirms our commitment to supporting carers.

“The report identifies what we are doing well, while acknowledging that more work is still needed to ensure the needs of every carer is met.”
